Short description

Loes Kooreman is working as a pathologist at MUMC+ since 2014. Her primary subjects of interest are gynaecopathology, breast pathology and cytology. She participates in many multidisciplinary boards considering patient care and research. She is also involved in clinical genetics and molecular pathology. She takes care in supervising the pathology residents and teaches medical students as well as fellow doctors. Her involvement in general affairs of the hospital, like IT is meaningful.

Loes Kooreman obtained her degree as a medical doctor at the University of Maastricht and did her residency at MUMC+. During this period she enjoyed interships at st. Elisabeth hospital Tilburg and Zuyderland hospital in Heerlen. In 2014 she was licensed as a pathologist and works at the MUMC+.

Additional functions, congress en working groupes
Loes Kooreman is involved with optimizing quality of patient care and has arranged the quality assurance in the Netherlands of breast cancer biomarkers (SKML) from 2015 until the end in 2019. Since 2021 she participates in the CRGO (guideline comity gynaecologic oncology). Since 2018 she is an active member of the NWGP (Dutch network of gynaecopathologists) and represents them in the national newsletter of the WOG (workinggroup oncologic gynaecology).

She takes an interest in participation of different national and international symposia and congresses. She is a member in different consortia, and is active in regional and lokal workinggroups with focus on optimalisation of patient care. 

Since September 2022 Loes is Medical chair breast cancer care Maastricht Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and from November 2022 chair of the NWGP.
